A Few more pictures of the Cafe area and the I.T room.

 

 

Just about there

Her are a few photographs of the rooms that are complete I will post some more next week when the rest have been furnished.

 

Almost there

I have refrained from updating with any new pictures as we are close to completion and will put a final update with completed pictures soon. There is a lot of activity going on as I type,  painting, flooring etc. The new external automatic doors have been fitted and the entrace tarmac laid. All major building work is now complete. Watch out for the finished item shortly.

Paint

The upstairs of the renovation are in the final stages of completion, with the decorators just putting the finishing touches to the decor. we have gone for a bold heritage colour to feature walls and to highlight the ceiling beams. Once the carpets go down and the glass in th ballustrade is fitted it will be complete, ready for furniture.

General catch up

The painters are in, starting upstairs, there is quite a bit of work to be done so i imagine they will be here for the next 2-3 weeks. There is a small amount of plasterwork to be completed downstairs with the electrician on this last few bits. the new front doors have been ordered and I would expect to see them fitted sometime next week. All in all everything is progressing nicely.

Roof

Fitting the new roof over the canteen area and the new entrance start today, I bet they are pleased with the snow!  this will probably take all week to complete weather permitting.

Getting closer

The upstairs is just about ready for the painters to go in. Downstairs the new entrance is coming in the roof is just going on and the floor screed will be in shortly.

Slight Delay

Due to the issues that were encountered with Asbestos and Unexpected steelwork propping A request has been made for a 2 week extension on the completion date. This was not unexpected and will not impact on the school plans to bring the block back into use. Other than this slight delay everything is progressing nicely I will update the site with some more pictures later today.

Still going strong

Work continues to press on, Plumbers electricians plasterers joiners all working together to move the project ever nearer to completion. The final pieces of stud work going up and internal woodwork will start to be fitted in the next week. I would expect heating to be completed by the middle of next week and the majority of the electrical work completed by then as well.

The new external entrance is out of the ground and should be complete by the end of the half term holiday. The next job will be the replacement of the large flat roof that covers the canteen area.
I will post a few pictures in the next day or so.

Cafe area Kitchen counter design

Below is an idea of how the counter area for the new canteen will look like, Final colours and exact detail still to be confirmed but along the lines of below.

"Going Up"

Stairs were delivered and erected on Monday, stud walls internally continuing to go up, Electrics, Security systems, Plumbing, all going in. The space is beginning to look more defined now.

The floors upstairs are now just about complete, internal studwork will start soon and the staircase will follow over the next week or 2.

Cafe Area

Below  gives you an idea of how the Cafe area will work within the cafeteria.

Supports removed

The expensive supports that held up the gable end while the new steelwork went in has now been removed.

Mezzanine

The mezzanine flooring is nearing completion, with the plasterers due to put in the new ceilings next week. the Electrician is in all this week doing the 1st fixing.

Work continues

Work is well underway, the floor joists for the mezzanine floor are going in and should be complete early next week, the new block work wall is complete. Steelwork to support the main gable end wall was delivered this morning and will be going in next week. The new entrance to the canteen area has just been opened up and the footings for the new entrance are now in. Over the next week things will start to take shape.
